Who is

Guruamma Sankalpa

Guruamma Sankalpa is a Vedic Monk of the order of Shree Vidya Tantra, a tradition dedicated to the Divine Mother, where their spiritual leaders represent the flow of love from the Divine Mother.

She has dedicated her life to God by purifying her physical body and mind through spiritual practice or yoga for more than 30 uninterrupted years, leading it to the ultimate goal of human evolution which is enlightenment.

Resume

November 1987 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa starts her spiritual career and starts doing volunteer service for her Spiritual Master or Guru in her Ashram.
She takes Initiation and undertakes a regular practice of mantra yoga and meditation. She does volunteer service for her in different areas such as logistics and programming.

May 1993 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa immigrates to North America in order to be an integral part of the School (Maintaining a disciplined practice of mantra yoga and meditation)

August 1998 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa becomes national coordinator of the department of teachings and retreats for young people. Located in Toronto Ontario Canada- (Intensifying her practice of mantra yoga and meditation) Within this Spiritual University she becomes a speaker and organizes retreats for said foundation.
She enriches her career with courses.

February 2000 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa is part of the Programming department and promotes the opening for the department for young people in Canada, accessing Universities and Psychiatric Hospitals.

2002 – 2003 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa intensifies her studies on human energy and different states of consciousness and mental evolution. She is studying at the University of Toronto in the area of Historical Religion and Meditation Applied to Psychology (Mindfullness Meditation).

September 2004 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa joins the Jeevana Dharma Yoga Association in Kengeri Bangalore India and under the tutelage of Sri Pooja Gurumatha Amma she takes in-depth studies in Sanskrit, Ayurveda, Hatha yoga, Mantra yoga and Meditation.

October 2004 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa becomes an assistant to Sri Pooja Gurumatha Amma in a tour around different universities in North America- (Mc Gill University in Montreal Quebec and University of Toronto (to name a few)

September 2005
At Mc Gill University in Montreal Quebec Gurumatha Amma asks Amma Sankalpa to become a Spiritual Teacher or Guru in the Sri Vidya Tantra tradition of South Indian Shaktism and embody the teachings she has received.

December 2005 –
Guru Amma Sankalpa travels to India to take formal Spiritual Master and Guru vows in the South Indian tradition of Shree Vidya Tantra in a formal Vedic ceremony at Sri Dhara Sri Gudda Ashram in Kengeri Bangalore on December 31, 2005

April 2006 –
Amma Sankalpa forms a path independent of her school of Initiation and the Jeevana Dharma Yoga Association’s to which she gives the Sanskrit name of Tattvam Yoga or Essential Yoga.

April 2006 to Date –
Amma Sankalpa has revived an ancient learning system from India called Gurukula- Where the overall development of the student is observed and exalted to its highest expression by training speakers and teachers who contribute to the evolution of consciousness.

Guru Amma Sankalpa lectures regularly at the Carbonel Hall at the University of Toronto in the religious studies department.

The University of Toronto welcomes Tattvam Yoga and supports its mission in Universities
Psychiatric hospitals and prisons as well as ecological and social assistance organizations.

For a few years, Tattvam Yoga started several humanitarian service projects such as:

INTERNATIONAL PRISON VISITS bringing the practices of yoga and meditation to prisons in different cities around the world.

CASA AMOR For children with cancer, giving donations of food and blessings.

GLOBAL CONFERENCES AND TALKS at Universities.

TATTVAM YOGA IS A PATH OF MEDITATION IN ACTION.

On January 14, 2014

Guruamma and Staff open an Ashram located on the outskirts of Cancun Q. Roo dedicated to:
• Bhakti Yoga
• Mantra Yoga
• Dhyan Yoga and
• Karma Yoga

To receive resident Ashramites to deepen their sadhana or spiritual practice

March 2016
Guruamma and staff travel to Bulgaria to visit a chanting and meditation group that has been waiting for their visit for more than 10 years.

March 2017
Guruamma and Staff visit the Buddhas Web, a buddhist monastery in Germany to impart Divine Initiation to seekers from different countries.

May 1, 2017
Guruamma imparts Divine Initiation in India.

On February 15, 2018
Guruamma and Staff decide, for administrative reasons, to release the monastic vows of renunciation and poverty for further expansion of the organization.
